Taking Center Stage Act II (TCSII) is an online publication from the California Department of Education
that provides twelve inter-related recommendations for ensuring the success of middle grades students.
The California League of Middle Schools (CLMS) now offers professional development focused on helping
educators use free and ubiquitous educational technologies to support the recommendations made in the
TCSII document. Individual workshops focused on specific tools are available, as is a 12 week course.
Both the workshops and 12 week course are designed to be completed by a cohort of educators at a
single site or district. Each event is affordably priced by the cohort. Each workshop is $2000 for up to 20
participants and $100 for each additional participant. The 12 week course is offered at the rate of 12
sessions for the price of 10. These prices do not include travel expenses for the instructor(s). An online
version of the 12 week course is also available for a reduced rate. Customized workshops and pricing are
also available. For more information, contact Dr. Mark Wagner, the Educational Technology Coordinator for CLMS.
